"’PC’ is like ‘Band-aid.’"
Actually, what I initially heard was "a PC’s like a band-aid" — as in a PC is something that you put on a boo-boo to stop the bleeding until you can get a Mac and solve the problem. š
That, however, was not the speaker’s actual meaning. He meant the term PC is like "Band-aid"; a brand name that’s now commonly used in a generic way to encompass all personal computers regardless of maker.
I like my meaning way better.
