Four People I’m Tagging
Most of the people I know have already been tagged so I only came up with two:
TAG!!!
you are so much more adventurous than i am. i think somewhere in the last year i lost a lot of… what do i call it… guts.
yeah. i used to be crazy enough to bust up into gang gatherings (although unknown to me, and pretty dumb too) just to ask a few questions related to planting churches in the neighborhood. i used to DO stuff. now i’m just some kid that sits at his computer all day.
gosh, already missing the road and all the fun that comes with it. and i think my siberia stories may not be nearly as exciting as people are expecting.
Hmmm… Joe, it seems to me that ANY story from Siberia is going to be exciting. As for adventure… there are different kinds. Maybe sitting at the computer is enough for now. Things might change.
And Lu… haven’t we already been through this tag thing? This version seems more virulent: I got an Email version of it, too.
Oh, and something for Soundchick: I was using my ML-9600 recorder yesterday, and found a playlist left over from the Mosaic Beverly Hills days. Well, actually several, but the one in question included several of the worship songs. You may call yourself silly for mixing with one hand while praising God with the other, but it worked. Even in the recording, the whole thing sings. Beverly Hills had it all over the other installations for music…
Larry — True. Very, very true. The music at Mosaic BH ROCKED! But that was more due to the awesome musicians we had than the sound mixer we had, hands in the air and all. 🙂
Wow, Joe. I’ve never really seen myself as adventurous. Let’s consider a moment: I’m 40 and I went on my FIRST overseas trip 10 years ago. I was 31 the first time I left the safety of the US (with the exception of a short trips to Tijuana and Juarez, Mexico and Vancouver, Canada, neither of which really count as they are quite American-friendly).
You, on the other hand, have already been to Syberia. As well as living your life on the road currently
Yeah, I think you win the adventurous game….
Another thing to note about my adventures. Most of them I had to be shoved and kicked into by God, because fear had rooted me to the spot where I’d first heard Him suggest we go on an adventure. “You want me to do whah—-?????” Frozen. Solid. Could. Not. Move.
I’m working on becoming a spiritual Jackie Chan — able to jump of buildings and onto moving trains and hang from trees over huge cliffs and all that, for Jesus — but I have a loooooonnnnnggggg way to go before I’m able to step up despite my fear (Jackie admitted he’s afraid every single time he does a stunt; said anyone who’s not is either lying or really stupid; yet he doesn’t let his fear stop him) and go on adventure with Jesus. I think I’m getting a little better, but there are still lots of times he has to push and shove and pull to get me out of my frozen spot.
PS — It’s snowing pretty good and has covered even the roads. Little more than a dusting at this point, but probably not much more than an inch — if that.
Woohoo!!! Winter has arrived!
Lu, I wasn’t afraid ever, really, but I started to get nervous somewhere around the Detroit Airport when I realized, “I’m going to the middle of nowhere, the real wild EAST, and I’m going to be there for two weeks.” But by then, it was too late for anything but to press onward. But I get antsy when I don’t get out more. Someone asked me how it is that I’m able to do any blogging… I wanted to laugh- it’s all I do. Over and over.
And while I guess people like kids… hah… I spent a week traveling to (and from) a place so I could spend another week playing with little Buryat/Russian kids in a village 30 miles from Mongolia. That about sums my Siberia story up. But… I think if I’m ever to master this storytelling thing, I should try to make it a little more interesting than that.
Ft. Riley? I work in Manhattan ks, live in St. George. Play bass at the Vineyard Church in Manhattan. Not even sure how I found your blog, just thought this was interesting.
Blessings,
Shari
